Chips and Dip: Good Food or Bad Food?

Chances are, any event you attend will have chips and dip. While this snack seems simple enough, it can be a sneaky source of fat and calories. Before you start snacking, consider this: one serving of Tostitos tortilla chips has 7 grams of fat and just 2 tablespoons of Pace salsa has 230 milligrams of sodium. Holy cow!
But it doesn’t have to be this way! Snack on baked whole grain chips over fried chips and dip them in healthy homemade dips. For better dipping options, try these improved recipes:
- Easy Authentic Guacamole
- Fresh Pico de Gallo Salsa
- Fresh and Easy Tomato Salsa
- Strawberry-Peach Salsa Dip
- Fresh Green Tomato Salsa

Wow! I will have to reconsider my love of chips and salsa and try to convert it to a multigrain chip. Who would have thought chips and salsa were so bad for your health! Thanks for the helpful information!
