Dairy: Good Food or Bad Food?

Posted by Matt on July 12th, 2010 at 11:12am

Dairy – milk, cheese, yogurt and the like – can be a terrific source of calcium and protein in your diet. But if you’re not careful, dairy can be a big source of fat, calories and cholesterol too. Many dairy products are big sources of saturated fat and LDL, the type of cholesterol that clogs arteries. Scary stuff!

But it doesn’t have to be this way! Choose low fat dairy to get all the health benefits without the fat and cholesterol. For healthier dairy options, try these recipes:

Low-Fat Banana Yogurt Pops
Homemade Powdered Milk Yogurt

Low Fat Granola Strawberry Parfait
