When the weather is warm and sticky, the last thing you want to eat is a heavy, hot meal. Making a cool, crisp salad is a great way to get a ton of nutrients and have a delicious meal at the same time. And while you may think that salad isn’t a hearty enough meal to keep you full and away from snacks, FaveDiets has a number of great summer salads that are chock full of enough fruits, proteins and veggies to keep you satisfied. Here are some of our favorites:
Asian Inspired Salmon-Tofu Salad – This Asian-inspired salad uses salmon and tofu to complement each other perfectly. This is a light and healthy salad perfect for a warm day. If you don’t like tofu, you can leave it out, but first give it a try!
Avocado Shrimp Cup Salad – Make this recipe even healthier by replacing the cocktail sauce with a lighter vinaigrette. Combine your best olive oil with your favorite vinegar, herbs and a little citrus to create the perfect finish for this dish.
3-Bean Salad – This all-veggie salad can be enjoyed as a side dish or a light meal. Add more of your favorite veggies and cut back on the sugar, and your waistline will thank you.
Strawberry Spinach Salad with Poppyseed Dressing – Amp up a plain spinach salad with some homemade poppyseed dressing! This salad is full of healthy, flavorful ingredients that will impress all of your guests.
