Is Yogurt Good For You?

The answer is Yes! It is a great way to aid in digestion without changing your diet. Yogurt contains a probiotic called Bifidus regularis, which helps to aid in digestion. It adds bacteria to the colon, thus allowing your food to pass with less effort. These microorganisms help to protect your body against disease, support the immune system, and help with the absorption of nutrients.
If you find it difficult to eat plain yogurt without any sugar, there is an alternative. There are recipes for fruit yogurt smoothies or yogurt fruit dip recipes, that will cure your sweet tooth. Natural sugars found in fruit are a great way to add a sugary taste. Just throw in some of your favorite fruits (pineapple, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, or bananas) into your yogurt and start your blender!

Don’t give yogurt the brush off when it comes to your health! Remember, it wants to help your body feel good and function properly. Yogurt is your friend, so grab hold of it, and let it pass through your rear end.

Hey Nicole and Matt, Neal Barnard would certainly disagree with the ‘yes’ answer, but I love yogurt. I hope it’s good for me, b/c I eat it!

Why is yogurt bad? Low-fat low-sugar dairy is a great source of protein, calcium and vitamin D, plus all the positive probiotics in yogurt.
