New Food Trends

Earlier this week, The Serious Eats team did a post about the latest at-home food trends. The trends they include are cabbage salads, baked oatmeal, frozen banana ice cream, roasted beet sandwiches and whole-wheat pasta with turkey sausage. Whether or not home cooks are actually making more of these items, it’s good to see some new ideas for healthy cooking ideas. The frozen banana ice cream is essentially just pureed frozen bananas. It may sound off-putting, but frozen bananas were a popular late night snack among my college classmates. I was excited to see that baked oatmeal if finally getting some recognition, as it’s a delicious way to switch up your breakfast routine. For instructions and recipes for baking your own baked oatmeal, check out the Amazing Baked Oatmeal recipe, or our Easy Baked Oatmeal.
